We did two live sections to see what it’s like switching roles for two parts of the programme. I was the floor manager for the interview section and again on camera 3 for the live performance that we rehearsed last week. Requiring the same shots as before but since we were on a tight schedule I didn’t get to loosen the grip on the camera to help with the panning. To make things worse the tripod broke so it was stuck in an upright position and was difficult to move, which made the panning even more jumpy than last week. Lucky we were still able to film the shots with this camera but it wasn’t perfect. We also had other problems before starting the live show, the microphones not working, not being able to cut to the VT of the music video and behind the scenes. Yet we sorted out these problems before airing the live show by communicating to the gallery and to everyone on set. It was my first time as a floor manager which was stressful but I managed to fulfil my role. I queued the presenter at the right time, pointed at which camera the presenter can look at and remembered other gestures to show the presenter the directors commands without talking over the show. Then has the music video played I switched to working on camera 3 and filmed the live performance. So overall it went well for our first time for this type of show, with two live sections, plus a music video and behind the scenes we shot last week played as well. These many elements managed to fit together except for some little mistakes with the timings and audio but next time I want to make sure we are completely prepared. As much thought through as possible because the fewer mistakes we have before the live show, the more time for rehearsal to make sure the show is brought out to a high standard.
